Tim is the owner and CEO of Skidmore Studio, a design studio in downtown Detroit. He is an intense advocate of how the creative economy can be a catalyst for growth in downtown Detroit. He speaks often on the power of design and brand and their ability to impact financial performance of companies of all sizes. Tim began professional career as editor/reporter at small-town newspaper in Plymouth, Mich. He has led marketing and branding programs at Grant Thornton, Plante & Moran and Village Green Companies. While at Village Green, he spent 12 years leading the advertising/communications and marketing efforts aimed at making the Village Green brand of apartment communities a household name. In 2001 Tim transitioned to Skidmore, the creative muscle behind the work at Village Green. Today, as the owner of Skidmore Studio he has reshaped the studio to be a significant contributor to the creative resurgence of both Skidmore and the city. Skidmore has a new home in The M@dison Building, and clients include DTE, The Metro Times, Doodle Home, NorthAmerican Bancard, The Detroit Regional Chamber of Commerce, The Detroit Economic Growth Corporation and The Detroit Tigers.
