Robyn Metcalfe is a scholar and lecturer in the School of Human Ecology in the College of Natural Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin. She is also the director of The Food Lab, an innovative project that explores the future of our food system. The Lab’s current project is “The Miracle of Feeding Cities,” a book and documentary film. Robyn is the author of “Meat, Commerce, and the City: The London Food Market, 1800-1855,” published in April 2012, as well as articles and columns related to agriculture, innovation, and urban food systems. In 2011, she moved from Boston to Austin. Robyn enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, visiting markets and farms, and trying out new foods. She is happily married to her husband and has two children.
