Ravi Viswanathan joined New Enterprise Associates in 2004 and co-heads the firm’s technology venture growth equity effort as well as NEA’s energy technology investment practice. His present board memberships include Boulder Wind Power, Braintree, Deeya Energy, Desire2Learn, Goji, Soraa, Stitcher, and Suniva. Ravi is also involved with Availink, BloomReach, Boku, GlobalLogic, ISGN Technologies, MuleSoft, and ViXS. His prior investments include Tele Atlas (acquired by TomTom), Arcot (acquired by CA Technologies), Sanera (acquired by McData), and IMlogic (acquired by Symantec).

Prior to joining NEA, Ravi worked at Goldman Sachs, where he was co-head of the technology practice in its private equity group. He has also worked for McKinsey & Co. and Raychem Corporation, where he focused on R&D in various materials systems. Ravi received an MBA from The Wharton School and a Ph.D in chemical engineering from the University of California-Santa Barbara, where he focused his research on materials science applications. He currently serves on the Wharton Entrepreneurship Advisory Board.
