Raj Seshadri is president of data and services at Mastercard, responsible for a global team that helps customers make smarter decisions with better outcomes. Encompassing insights and analytics, loyalty, innovation and ‘test and learn’ services, and consulting, the team focuses on partnering with customers to enhance business performance, elevate consumer experiences and enable innovation. Ultimately, it’s about helping them gain more customers, more sales, more often.
Before taking on this role, Raj served as president of U.S. issuers, where she managed and grew the company’s core business, services and partnerships with banks and credit unions in a very competitive market. Previously, Raj held leadership roles at BlackRock, Citi, U.S. Trust, and McKinsey & Company. Earlier in her career, she was a post-doctoral fellow at AT&T Bell Laboratories. In addition to serving on boards, she is an adjunct professor at the Columbia Business School and a member of the Partnership for New York David Rockefeller Fellows Program.
Raj received a bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College in physics and mathematics, a Masters of Business Administration from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in physics from Harvard University.
