Pooj Preena is currently vice president of business at Magisto, the smartest way chosen by over 45 million consumers to create and share professional looking movies—directly from their mobile device. Magisto’s patented artificial intelligence platform is the only way to create production-quality UGC at scale. In his role, Pooj is responsible for business development and corporate development activities globally. Pooj has previously served as CEO of the Americas business of Hi-Media SA, the largest online display advertising company in Europe. He was responsible for expansion of the mobile payments business (Allopass) into the US and Latin America. Prior to Hi-Media, he served as the first head of business development at Dropbox, COO at OMGPOP (acquired by Zynga), VP of business development at Jangl (acquired by Telefonica), and head of business development at Skype (acquired by eBay), where he was the first U.S. employee. He has also worked at Certicom (acquired by RIM), in the Office of Strategy and Technology at HP, and as a strategy consultant at Scient. Additionally, in his capacity as an active early stage investor he has invested in, or advised several companies including: MessageMe (acquired by Yahoo), Socialcast (acquired by VMware), Payfone, Sequent, Tikona Digital Networks, and Networked Insights. He also sits on the board of Booktrack (funded by top-tier investors including Peter Thiel), and is founder of and advisor to Betaworks, an early stage incubator and investor in the real-time social Web.
