Philipp Humm joined Vodafone at the beginning of October 2012 as regional CEO for Northern and Central Europe. In September 2013, he became regional CEO for Europe. Previously, Philipp led T-Mobile USA from November 2010 to June 2012. From 2009 to 2010, Philipp was chief regional officer and a member of T-Mobile International’s executive committee. From 2005 to 2008, Philipp was CEO and chief sales officer for T-Mobile Germany. From 2007 to 2008, he also served as a member of the management board of Deutsche Telekom’s wireline division. After studying business in Germany and at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Philipp began his career in 1982 at Procter & Gamble. In 1985, he received his M.B.A. degree from the IMEDE (IMD) in Switzerland. From 1986 to 1992, Philipp was with the consulting firm McKinsey & Company in Germany and Los Angeles. From 1992 to 1999, Philipp was an executive with the grocery retailer Tengelmann in Germany, where in 1996 he became a member of the executive board and in 1998 became CEO of their food-discounter Plus. From 2000 to 2002, Philipp was an executive with the online retailer Amazon, where he held roles as managing director of Amazon Germany and France, and VP of Europe. Philipp was born 1959 in Saarbruecken, Germany. His mother is Belgian. He is married and has three children studying at colleges abroad.
