Murray Bruges has been New Zealand’s Deputy Consul-General in Los Angeles since January 2018, where he focuses on technology and climate policy. He has worked at the New Zealand foreign ministry for eight years in a range of trade and economic roles centred on New Zealand’s export performance. Prior to joining the foreign ministry, Murray worked on New Zealand’s fisheries policy.

Murray holds an MSc in Geography from Auckland University, where he focused on natural resource management. When not exploring America’s magnificent national parks, Murray can be found most weekends with his wife and son on LA’s bike paths.
