Louise Harris joined Orbis International in 2017 and leads the organization’s global marketing and communications function. Orbis is an international non-profit that works around the world to prevent and treat avoidable blindness and operates the world’s only Flying Eye Hospital – a fully accredited teaching hospital on board an MD-10 aircraft.
Working with more than 400 Volunteer Faculty, Orbis strengthens local partners’ ability to provide the highest quality eye care possible to those in need. This is achieved with the Flying Eye Hospital and long-term country programs as well as through their telemedicine platform, Cybersight, which increases the ability to provide training and support in places where a physical presence isn’t possible due to cost, logistics or security.
Prior to joining Orbis, Louise was an Executive Vice President and head of Global Strategy at communications firm, Ruder Finn in New York, where she provided senior counsel to clients in healthcare, technology and financial services. She has also held senior positions with Ruder Finn and Burson-Marsteller for over a decade in Asia.
