Laura Bailyn is a Senior Director at the Markle Foundation, which focuses on using information and communications technologies to address critical public needs, particularly in health care and the nation’s security. Currently, Markle is developing an initiative to broaden the benefits of advances in information technology to create a vibrant economic future for all Americans. Laura has an extensive background in technology and a broad range of policy issues. She worked as a rights management consultant at Apple, Inc., in real estate development at Two Trees Management Company, practicing intellectual property and technology law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher, & Flom, LLP, and previously at the Markle Foundation, helping to set the groundwork for Markle’s involvement in technology-related health and national security policy. Laura holds a Bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and a Juris Doctor degree from the Benjamin Cardozo School of Law. She was a Coro Foundation Fellow in Public Affairs from 1993 to 1994.
