Kristina Shevory is a longtime freelance reporter who writes regularly for The New York Times. Her articles have also appeared in the Atlantic Monthly, Foreign Policy, Newsweek, Wired, and Businessweek, among others. She was previously a staff reporter who tracked Texas state politics at the Associated Press, covered regional business at the Seattle Times, and followed the ups and downs of the oil and gas markets for investment guru Jim Cramer’s site Kristina has worked extensively overseas, most recently in Pakistan, and ran an English-language newspaper in Russua for two years. She is also a U.S. Army veteran.
