Kara Rousseau is a Senior Marketing Executive in the Media & Entertainment industry with over 25 years of experience at leading companies including The Walt Disney Company, Turner Broadcasting and Time Warner. Kara was recently named the SVP, Client Solutions and Portfolio Marketing for Disney/ABC Sales & Marketing – inclusive of ABC, Disney Channels Worldwide, Freeform and Disney Digital Network. In this role, she leads a 30+ person team that is responsible for portfolio trade marketing strategy and activation, strategic sales support and collateral, creative services, and category insights & partnerships. Prior to this, Kara served as SVP, Ad Sales Marketing at Disney Media – a position she was promoted to in 2006. During this time, she led a team that created and executed integrated marketing solutions for partners across Disney’s linear, digital and social media including Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Radio Disney and Disney Interactive. As the media home to Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar brands and franchises, Disney Media programs often extended to other business units of The Walt Disney Company including Walt Disney Studios, Disney Parks, Disney Consumer Products Interactive, and Corporate Alliances. Kara joined Disney in 2005 as VP, Ad Sales Marketing of the Disney ABC Kids Networks. She joined Disney from Time Warner where she was VP, Marketing for the Time Warner Global Marketing Group. In that role, she developed integrated solutions leveraging the AOL and Time Warner portfolio for clients. From 1998-2001, Kara worked at Turner Broadcasting, a division of Time Warner, serving as Director, Strategic Marketing with the Turner Marketing Solutions Group. She began her career at New York and Boston Advertising agencies such as Lowe & Partners/SMS and Hill, Holliday/Altschiller, in both Account Management and Media Planning positions. Rousseau graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Colgate University. She lives in Hoboken, NJ with her daughter, Chloé.
