Kaare Christian is a medical device engineer who most recently was a principal at a startup focusing on optical measurement of retinal bloodflow to detect disease. Prior to that he worked as an engineer at The Rockefeller University. He is also the author of a dozen books on Unix, computer programming, and other technical topics, and has been an occasional contributor to several magazines. He currently leads a local watershed group, and serves on the Town Board of Germantown New York.
