Elizabeth Heichler is editor-in-chief of the IDG News Service, the technology-focused international wire service that reaches a worldwide audience of more than 200 million readers of IDG titles like Computerworld, CIO, Macworld, and PC World in the U.S. and abroad. In her ten years leading a global staff of journalists at 16 bureaus in 12 countries, she has transformed IDG’s global news operation into a 24/7 content service that tells stories through original reporting, video, and social media tools. Elizabeth was first drawn to tech journalism more than 20 years ago when she reported on design automation, and saw American manufacturers seek to transform themselves through their use of IT. Among her current top coverage priorities are information security issues from personal privacy to cyber warfare. She’s eager to see how the digital natives creating in Minecraft today will wield technology as they enter the workforce in the next decade. Elizabeth is a graduate of Boston University, where she studied religion and philosophy.
