David Berkowitz is the chief strategy officer of Sysomos, the insights-driven social platform, where he advises the company’s agency and brand customers. Previously, David served as chief marketing officer at Publicis Groupe creative agency MRY. Before that, he spent seven years at Dentsu agency 360i, ultimately as their vice president of emerging media. He founded their Startup Outlook initiative, a series of publications and events connecting marketers with relevant technology startups. He also worked for the agency iCrossing and the advertising technology firm Viewpoint, both in marketing director roles. Earlier on, he spent several years at research firm eMarketer as their editor and director of media relations.

David has contributed more than 500 columns to Advertising Age, MediaPost, VentureBeat, Mashable, Adweek, and other publications. He has frequently appeared in media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the Associated Press, and USA Today. He has penned his Serial Marketer blog since 2005, and he has spoken at more than 300 events globally. His many university guest lectures include appearances at Yale, MIT, NYU, and his alma mater Binghamton University, along with frequent courses delivered through General Assembly.
