Craig Collins joined Kaplan University in 2014 and is senior vice president of corporate development and services. In this role, he leads strategic relationships for the University focusing specifically on partnership development. Craig has more than 23 years of innovative senior leadership experience in the communications and technology industry including Time Warner Cable, XO Communications, Bell Atlantic, and AT&T. He has turned around and integrated stagnant assets as well as grown small acquisitions into flourishing operations. Most recently, Craig was president of business services for Time Warner Cable’s Western Region group. He provided strategic direction as well as operational management for sales, marketing, product management, customer care, and service delivery in the commercial services sector. Additionally, Craig successfully developed and executed a business plan that resulted in 25-percent revenue growth across two consecutive years. Prior to that position, he served as senior vice president of business services, sales, and marketing, for Time Warner Cable Business Class where he oversaw the successful expansion of Time Warner Cable’s Business Services division. For seven years prior, Craig held general manager, sales, and marketing leadership positions with XO Communications, and in 2008 was selected to build a new business unit focused on XO’s core strengths in the small/medium business segment where he was president. Craig was a 20-year NCAA Division I free-throw percentage record holder (95.9 percent), a record set while playing basketball for Penn State University, where he was team captain and most valuable player in his senior year. Craig earned an M.B.A. from Georgetown University and a B.S. in hotel, restaurant, and institution management from Penn State. Craig served as a co-chair of the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), and a board member of the National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC) and The Time Warner Cable Executive Diversity Committee. He resides in the Chicago area.
