Dr. Bryan Jacobs is an advanced technology consultant at Berberian & Company, where he advises government clients on high risk, high impact R&D programs in quantum information and quantum computing. Dr. Jacobs has over twenty-five years of experience in quantum information and photonics as a researcher, inventor, and educator. Prior to joining Berberian & Company, Dr. Jacobs was a Principal Staff Physicist and Program Manager at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), where he initiated and managed numerous research projects sponsored by DARPA and other government agencies. Dr. Jacobs has an extensive and prestigious publication record, and is the inventor on five patents in photonic quantum computing and one patent in quantum cryptography. He has received a number of awards for his work in quantum information, and has served twice on the National Academies/National Research Council Panel on Physics. His expertise is in quantum algorithms, quantum annealing, quantum resource estimation, quantum programming languages, quantum communications systems, photonic implementations of quantum computing, all-optical switching technology, and quantum & classical sensors.
