Avraham Berkowitz serves as a Senior Advisor to companies and non-profits in Education, Health, and Technology in their PR strategy, social responsibility and philanthropic impact. Including, Airbnb, FundRx, Toptal and Zearn. Avraham is an ordained Rabbi and serves as a Director at Chabad Headquarters and co-leads the Global Chabad Development Fund (MIDF), which provides supplemental support for religious, educational and humanitarian programs to member communities in 89 countries and 3,000 cities globally. He also serves as an alternate delegate of the Chabad NGO at the United Nations in New York. In 2010 Avraham worked to rebuild the Chabad House in Mumbai, India. Previously, as Executive Director of the Federation of Jewish Communities of the CIS based in Moscow, Russia from 1999 to 2009, Avraham led global communications, media relations, and international development, serving over 400 Jewish communities in fifteen republics of the Former Soviet Union. Avraham is a member of the World Economic Forums Civil Society community and works with leaders of major global NGOs, collaborating with businesses and governments to tackle global challenges. He serves as a board member for the Inspirasia Foundation, which supports nonprofits helping disadvantaged individuals with health services, education, and job skills in Indonesia, India and Thailand.
A native of Southfield, Michigan now lives with his wife Leah and their five children in Brooklyn, New York. He is fluent in English, Hebrew, and Yiddish and conversant in Spanish and Russian.
