Amit leads Ishan Advisors, a boutique executive education and consulting company, and is an Adjunct Professor at Ashridge Executive Education. Until recently, he was Professor of Leadership and Strategy at IMD, having earlier taught at Hult, Babson College, and INSEAD. He was the Chief Technology & Strategy Officer of TurboChef Technologies, Director/co-practice-leader at the global consultancy Arthur D. Little, and the founding leader of strategic consulting at Forrester Research. He is currently writing a book, The Leader in a Digital World, which will address how digital technologies are changing the norms of effective leadership.

He writes a regular column for Sloan Management Review, and HBR, Forbes, SHRM, Leader to Leader, Chief Learning Officer, and the premier academic journal, Management Science have published his work. His book, The Spider’s Strategy, named “one of the 30 best business books of 2009,” addressed how digital technologies required companies to compete as members of networks. He has designed and/or taught at organizations like FedEx, Nielsen, ConAgra Foods, J&J, Kraft, Indonesia’s central bank, and China Post.

He has helped craft corporate and technology strategies, and has led multi-organization, multi-function, product development teams and operations improvement teams. He earned his B.E. (Honors) from BITS Pilani, his MBA from the Darden School of the University of Virginia, and his Doctorate in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School.
