Alessandro Vigilante (Ale) was appointed VP / Head of US West Coast Innovation Ecosystem at Fidelity Investments in 2016. He’s responsible for identifying the most relevant technology trends and companies in the Silicon Valley, assessing them and bringing them to the attention of the relevant Fidelity executives. Prior to moving to California, Ale lived in London, where he covered the same role as a consultant for Europe since 2015.
Between 2007 and 2016 Alessandro was at Colt Technology Services, a Fidelity Investments company, where he held a number of executive appointments, most recently VP Strategy, Business Development & Technology, a role that he ran in parallel to his consulting engagement with Fidelity.
Before Colt, Alessandro held pan-European senior strategic marketing positions at Vodafone Group, where he designed and brought to market a number of Enterprise flagship products. Prior to this Alessandro led the creation of the mobile services’ practice of the IT consultancy start-up IrisCube (today Reply Group), building a EUR12m/year business from scratch in 15 months. Alessandro began his career by reengineering the product development process of a post-merger pan-European toys’ manufacturing conglomerate (today Hornby Hobbies Ltd).
Alessandro holds a Master of Industrial Engineering from Politecnico di Milano (1998) and an MBA from SDA Bocconi (2003), which included an international exchange at London Business School. He is a judge and mentor for a number of Startups Accelerators, and he is a MBA guest lecturer at SDA Bocconi (Milan, Italy) and Instituto de Empresa (Madrid, Spain).
