Erik Opsal is the Deputy Director for Communications & Strategy at the Brennan Center. Erik joined the Communications and Strategy team at the Brennan Center in January 2011. As Deputy Directory, he helps oversee the day-to-day operations of the department, driving media strategy, executing public advocacy campaigns, maximizing press opportunities, editing publications, and organizing events. His work focuses across all Brennan Center issue areas, including voting rights & elections, criminal justice, redistricting, fair courts, liberty and national security, and money in politics. He also contributes to digital strategy, content, and editing. Prior to joining the Brennan Center, he worked as Deputy Communications Director for U.S. Senator Russ Feingold.
