Prior to joining ITI, Ms. Weinman spent more than ten years at the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), most recently serving as an attorney advisor to Commissioner Julie Brill. Prior to that role, she spent seven years in the FTC’s Office of International Affairs where she worked on international policy issues and enforcement cooperation in the areas of privacy and data security. She has served on the U.S. government delegations to several international organizations, including the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Working Party on Information Security and Privacy (WPISP), and the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Electronic Commerce Steering Group and Data Privacy Subgroup. Ms. Weinman began her career at the FTC as an attorney in the Division of Enforcement where she focused on ensuring that companies subject to FTC consent orders relating to privacy and data security were in compliance with the agency’s requirements. Prior to her tenure at the FTC, Ms. Weinman served as the general counsel at an online e-commerce firm.
Yael earned her law degree at Fordham Law School and her undergraduate degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a native of Brooklyn, New York.
