Peter Vander Auwera is co-founder of Innotribe, the innovation initiative of SWIFT, a member-owned cooperative that provides the communications platform, products, and services to connect more than 10,000 financial institutions and corporations in 210 countries. As a member of the Innotribe innovation team, he is architect and content curator of its main events, including Innotribe at Sibos. He is responsible for various innovation proofs of concepts and incubation projects. Peter joined SWIFT in 2005.
Prior to SWIFT, Peter was at Microsoft as manager of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Solution Sales and Business Development for the company’s Belgian Electronic Identity Card plans. For his role, he received the Microsoft Chairman’s Award in 2005. Throughout his career, Peter has won several awards for innovation and going above and beyond.
Peter is a member of the World Economic Forum expert group on personal data, and has participated in REXpedition, TEDxNewWallStreet, and TEDxChange. His is the founder of Corporate Rebels United, a movement to unite corporate rebels worldwide to ensure that true change happens virally. Peter blogs regularly and has an engaged Twitter following. Peter is Belgian, married to Mieke, and the proud father of a 7-year-old daughter.
