Mark Leiter is the Executive Chairman of The Demand Institute, a non-profit organization founded by The Conference Board and Nielsen. The Demand Institute’s mission is to strengthen the growth and vitality of the global economy by helping leaders align their investments to where consumer demand is headed across industries, countries and markets. Mark is concurrently serving as Executive Vice President on Nielsen’s senior leadership team. Since starting to work with Nielsen in 2006, he has provided global leadership for many of the firm’s practices, products and services while playing a central role in designing the company’s worldwide growth and go-to-market strategies. Prior to taking on his current role, Mark was President, Global Practices and Consulting Services. Earlier in his career, Mark held leadership roles with McKinsey & Company, in the marketing practice, and as a senior partner and global marketing leader at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. He began his business career at Bain & Company, as a member of the firm’s customer loyalty practice. Mark holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from the State University of New York at Albany, an M.A. from Harvard University and was a research fellow at Harvard Business School.
