John Suh is the Director of Hyundai Ventures, which is responsible for making strategic investments and developing business partnerships with companies in the United States on behalf of the Hyundai Motor Group. John’s investment and partnership areas of focus include information and communication technology, automotive cleantech, intelligent systems for safety and energy efficiency, and new business models for personal mobility. John has been chair the Consumer Electronics Association standards committee (R6.3) on wireless power since 2010. In that role, John also leads collaborative efforts with other industry consortia and standards develop organizations, including the IEC. Prior to joining Hyundai, he worked at General Motors and Xerox Palo Alto Research Center. John has a B.S. in electrical engineering from Kettering University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from Stanford University. His Ph.D. research was in design development of CMOS integrated MEMS actuator technology. John has numerous technical publications and has 4 patents in the fields of robotics and artificial nose systems.
