Founder, Outvest Capital

Alec is the Founder and CIO of Outvest Capital (www.outvest.com), a fund management business he founded in 2016 after over 29 years as an investment banker covering the technology sector.  His career included 12 years at Jefferies, where he was a Vice Chairman of the firm, Executive Committee member, and Chairman of the Technology banking group.   Alec joined Jefferies in 2003 when Jefferies acquired Broadview International, where he was President.

Outvest Capital enables investors to ‘play’ technology disruption across all industries by focusing on the challenges created for incumbents.  Unlike most technology-oriented funds which try to identify the ‘winners’, Outvest has turned the portfolio construction process ‘INSIDE-OUT’.  The firm employs its proprietary process and algorithms to identify the industries and companies which are the most ineffective in responding to technology disruption and exclude them from its portfolio.  The firm launched its initial fund at the end of Q1 2017.

Based in Greenwich, CT, Alec holds a B.A. from Yale (summa cum laude) and an M.B.A. from Harvard (Baker Scholar).  Among his not-for-profit activities, Alec serves on the board of the National Museum of American Jewish History in Philadelphia.
