Ahmet Oren is CEO of Ihlas Holding, an internationally recognized company with 20,000 staff and nearly 500 offices in Turkey, Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and the US. Its main businesses are media, construction, and marketing. It also has operations in education, health, electronics, foreign trade, and tourism. The company aims to grow in the media, construction, and service sectors. Ahmet established TGRT-TV in 1993 as one of the first private television channels in Turkey. As Ihlas focused its television operations on its 24-hour news channel, Ahmet sold TGRT to News Corporation in 2006 as the first major foreign acquisition in the Turkish TV industry. Currently, he oversees Ihlas operations in construction and energy. He serves on the board of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and is a member of the World Economic Forum and the American-Turkish Council. Ahmet was appointed as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Latvia in New York State.
