Andrew Parker

Research Fellow, Belfer Center for Science & International Affairs, Harvard Kennedy School

Andy Parker is a research fellow in the Belfer Center at the Harvard Kennedy School, where his research focuses on the governance and politics of solar geoengineering. Previously he led the (UK) Royal Society’s work on geoengineering for four years as a senior policy adviser in the Science Policy Centre, including the production of the 2009 report, Geoengineering the Climate, and the ongoing SRM Governance Initiative (SRMGI). He is a member of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity’s expert working group on geoengineering and also worked on climate change and energy policy for the Royal Society. Previously, he researched and wrote on human security for the Canadian government and worked in home energy efficiency. Andy has an M.Sc. in international policy analysis from the University of Bath and a B.Sc. in psychology from the University of Warwick (both UK).
