You will not be able to meet the Millennium Development Goals in health and education without e-health and e-education. Government can’t provide services without e-government. We need to have government, the private sector, and consumers on the same level in a complementary manner. Communication is a powerful tool in the hands of people, and when governments take it away, it becomes a bomb in the hands of those governments. Government’s role is to create a level playing field, put the right policy framework in place, and let the private sector come in and invest. Facebook is the third largest country in the world today, so they need to be represented at the table. Everyone has the right to debate privacy issues. Power is in the hands of the consumers and they need to be involved at every stage.
